Biography
Stephen is a corporate responsibility leader at JPMorgan Chase & Co. where he has lead campaigns and partnerships to advance housing afforability, student loan forgiveness, and urban revialization.
Previously, Stephen directed external affairs for Rocket Companies, a publicly traded fin-tech company that includes mortgage, real estate, and financial service businesses. At Rocket, Stephen was instrumental in the firm's policy, regulatory, and philanthropic strategy, which led the firm to become the country's number-one mortgage servicer.

Before Rocket, Stephen led external affairs and stakeholder outreach at the Greater Washington Partnership, an alliance of influential cross-sector employers in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. While at the Partnership, Stephen led lobbying on Maryland's metro commitment and the development of the country's first regional affordable housing strategy.
Stephen has also served in policy and external affairs roles at Pew Charitable Trusts and the National Governors Association and as a fellow at the Center for American Progress. He began his career with federal, state, and local campaigns.
Stephen is a native of Maryland. He holds a degree in English with a focus on African American and Caribbean literature from Morehouse College and a Master's degree in Public Affairs and Urban Economics from Brown University. At any given moment he is tweaking a playlist or reading his kindle during a zoom meting. He lives in South Laurel with his wife, Michelle.
